- Client Spotlight
At
Lusk Law, LLC, we know that our success depends on our ability to provide the best representation for our clients, both with the day-to-day legal issues and with litigation, when necessary. We value our relationships with our clients, and to show our appreciation we developed our Client Spotlight e-blasts. The Client Spotlight is a monthly feature about our long-standing clients. This month, we are featuring not just one client, but a husband and wife team:
Michele Wellman and Douglas Anderson, who also are business owners of By Chance Farm and PROFormance Horse. Michele Wellman and Doug Anderson met as many horse couples do, through their shared interest and love of horses. Doug is a farrier who owns PROFormance Horse and met Michele through his business shoeing horses at Michele’s horse boarding facility, By Chance Farm. Michele and her mother, Charlene Cherry, purchased By Chance Farm in 2002. The farm is on 111 acres of rolling land in Eastern Frederick County.
Over the past 15 years, Michele has built the farm into one of the premier Dressage and Eventing Boarding & Training facilities in the area. She hosts regular shows throughout the year, including a licensed Dressage Show. She has two full-time employees and 42 horses on the farm. Michele recently left her day-job as a Mechanical Engineer and Certified Project Manager and is now working full time as a horse trainer and instructor. Having worked hard in the horse industry while working in corporate positions, Michele earned her United States Dressage Federation Bronze and Silver medals and is a Certified United States Eventing Association Instructor.
Doug Anderson started his shoeing career in the Pittsburgh, PA, area in 1999. His success in the industry and expanding client base led him to start PROformance Horse in 2002. After commuting to the Frederick area for a client for a couple of years, it became apparent that this area needed his specialized skills. Doug moved to Frederick in 2004 and has since built a solid regular clientele and a thriving business helping horses in need of a specialized farrier. Doug’s philosophy on shoeing horses is science- and evidence-based, and his successes have garnered him invitations to speak at International Conferences, as well as to be published nationally and internationally. Doug’s skills take him to clients in six different states, and he cares for horses in multiple high-performance disciplines, including the Olympic sports of dressage, eventing and show jumping.
As Michele and Doug’s businesses and their relationship have evolved over the past few years, they have been able to obtain legal guidance from Lusk Law, LLC. Michele started as a client in 2012.
Since then, Lusk Law has been able to assist Michele and Doug with legal matters for their businesses, in terms of planning for the future and addressing immediate problems, as well as personal matters, such as purchasing a house.
