CK Electric, a veteran-owned and operated company based in Sykesville with a mission of providing high-quality electrical work at an affordable price.
CK Electric is owned by Carl Kirkpatrick and his wife, Nancy, who moved to the area from Montgomery County, attracted by the more rural lifestyle.
Originally from Haynesville, Louisiana, Carl is a disabled veteran of the United States Marine Corps who spent eight years honorably serving his country with tours in Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations. After working as a correctional officer in Louisiana, he moved to Maryland in 2009. Carl earned an Associate’s Degree in Project Management from Montgomery College, and completed the 4-year apprenticeship program of IEC Chesapeake (the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Independent Electrical Contractors). He graduated at the top of his class. Carl is now a fully insured Master Electrician, licensed throughout the state.
Nancy is a native of Newport News, Virginia. After earning a B.S. in Governmental Administration and an MBA with a concentration in marketing, she moved to Maryland for work — and has been here ever since. In addition to managing her own full-time career, she brings her marketing and business prowess to CK Electric, handling the administrative and financial side of the business.
CK Electric is truly a family affair: Carl and Nancy’s nephew, Craig, a student at Texas Tech University (go Red Raiders!), helps with advertising and marketing as needed.
Started in October 2019, CK Electric offers residential and light commercial services. Their ideal client is “anyone who appreciates quality work at a fair price.” Whatever their needs — rewiring, smart home upgrades, troubleshooting and repairing problems, or anything else electrical — clients can count on a job well done without exorbitant costs or hidden fees.

Carl and Nancy came to Lusk Law, LLC in 2019 as they were preparing to launch their business. They appreciate working with Rebekah and the entire staff because they are accessible, responsible, not intimidating, and excel at explaining everything thoroughly.
Becoming a licensed electrician in Maryland involves a lot of bureaucracy and red tape, which can vary from county to county. Carl and Nancy say “Rebekah and her team were instrumental in helping us navigate the challenging and confusing regulations involved in becoming appropriately licensed and registered in Maryland and the various counties. They did all the leg work researching what we needed so we could focus on our core business – providing sound electrical work for our customers.”
