Baltimore Washington Counseling Center and its owner, Christine Rykiel.
Christine, a Licensed Certified Social Worker with a Clinic specialization (LCSW-C), began her career in social work in 1994. She opened BWCC in 2005, operating independently until 2008, when she began hiring additional clinicians. The practice grew, and by 2011, Christine and her staff moved to a larger office to accommodate a team of 25 counselors and six administrative staffers. BWCC now provides counseling to more than 80 people per day. In addition, the center offers an internship program through which students completing their master’s education in social work and/or counseling may engage in client work. In addition, BWCC’s Training Institute offers continuing education courses for local mental health professionals.
Christine says BWCC’s ideal counseling client is “one that is motivated for change.” Together, BWCC counselors and clients work to identify healthy coping skills for any difficult situation clients may encounter. BWCC’s Training Institute offers affordable, high-quality continuing education courses so mental health professionals can grow their skills and fulfill license requirements.
Being in the profession of providing personal guidance, Christine says she appreciates that Lusk Law, LLC, offers her prompt, personable legal advice when she needs it. She has counted on the firm since 2013 for trusted input on a variety of legal matters, working closely with attorney Rebekah Lusk. Of her working relationship with Rebekah, Christine said, “She always has the best interests of my practice when providing advisement to me and I thoroughly trust her guidance in all of our legal issues.”
Christine resides in Florida with her husband and two children and enjoys spending her free time at the beach with her family.
